    In 1982 the Hungarian Oilrefinery Co. Ltd. put in service a tanker, the s/s ETELKA, built for carrying crude oil. She was the single tankship for a long while in the waters of Hungarian seacoast. Oil demands of the kriegsmarine, defense industry and hinterland had been previously fulfilled by canned fuel transported in holds of freighters. This tankship carried products of the Fiume oilrefinery mainly to the kriegsmarine and army. Later the Photogen Transport Co. took over management of ETELKA.
